Energy Trilemma
"Balancing the 3 dimensions has never been more pressing"
The World Energy Council’s (WEC) definition of energy sustainability is based on three dimensions: i) Energy Security, ii) Energy Equity, and iii) Environmental Sustainability of Energy Systems: balancing these three dimensions enable prosperity & competitiveness of individual countries [WEC, 2023]. Figure 1 shows the WEC World Energy Trilemma.
