BR Grain Harvest

Grain Production – 2024/2025 Harvest [CONAB, 2025]

  

Brazil’s grain production for the 2024/2025 harvest reached a record 350.2 million tons, with soybeans and corn standing out. Soybean production totaled 171.41 million tons, while corn reached 139.47 million tons, of which 80% came from the second crop (around 112 million tons).  This grain production represents a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8% over the past three years.  Overall, Brazil’s total agricultural production, including crops beyond grains, amounted to around 1.2 billion ton.

Rice, wheat, cotton & beans

​  

Rice production reached 12.75 million tons, with 70% coming from Rio Grande do Sul state, while wheat totaled 7.5 million tons. Cotton and beans production amounted to 4.06 and 3.07 million tons, respectively.  Soybeans, corn, and rice together account for roughly 90% of the country’s total grain production.

Grain storage

  

Brazil currently has 64 grain storage facilities, compared to 91 a few years ago.  The current storage capacity can accommodate about 70% of the country’s grain production..

Harvest forecast

CONAB projects that Brazil will harvest a record grain crop in 2025/26, estimated at 353.4 to 354.7 million tons, setting a new historical record.  Production is primarily driven by soybeans, expected to reach around 178 million tons, and a historic record in coffee, surpassing 66 million bags.
